The Treasure and the Sunken Ship

By Sofia Harper, age 8

An evil, dark and roaring thunderstorm attacked the sky. Angrily lightning took over Oddbod’s ship. Noticing his ship got struck, Oddbod jumped in to the massive waves of the dreaded ocean. As the pirate surfaced he gulped yucky sea water and filled his lungs and he said “Hello” to God because he died. As he died the storm calmed and his most prized possession (the colourful crystal brooch) was stolen from a chest in the sunken ship by a mermaid.

As she was swimming along with it her parents called, “It’s time for dinner”. Immediately she dropped it and swam to dinner happily. As the brooch sunk to the bottom it landed on a turtle’s shell and had a lovely swim. Swimming slowly the turtle went to see his friend Mr Whale (AKA Bob) and put the flower shaped luminescent brooch on his blowhole. As the whale breathed out it shot like a firework into the sky and landed on a beach towel. Then someone picked it up, polished it and took it to Vintiques where it sat and waited for a story to be written about it.
